Piazza di Pietra is one of the
most fascinating public squares in Rome even though it is one of
the most known.
The square take its name from the presence of the Tempio di
Adriano (AD 145) of which the lateral columnate remains
practically integral and very visible.

Piazza di Pietra is distant a few meters from the Pantheon on
the pedestrian street that connects Piazza Navona and Fontana di
Trevi, it constitutes one of the most pleasant discoveries among
the so many “hidden” treasures of Rome.
The store DE SANCTIS 1890 is part of the splendid Palazzo Ferrini, other “pearl” of the plaza, planned from Onorio Longhi
at the beginning of the XVII century.
Piazza di Pietra is very popular for the Roman people,
especially in the evening, and constitutes a fashionable spot of
the "roman movida", in fact there are many refined and exclusive
meeting places. |
